Aurora

Aurora Aksnes (born June 15 1995, in Stavanger) is the name of a Norwegian musician and vocalist. Her debut E.P. Running with the Wolves has been released by Decca Records and was well received by music blogs. She has recorded several high-profile cover songs, including Half the World Away (by Oasis), from the group Oasis) to accompany John Lewis' Christmas advert as well as Nature Boy (by Nat King Cole) and are widely loved. She gained some further recognition via a blog post from Katy Perry where Perry endorsed her song Runaway. Enjoy her day. Aurora Aksnes first musical memory was when she discovered a keyboard in her loft, and becoming amazed by the music. Jan Oystein Aksnes was her father. He urged her not to do music just for fun or to aid in growth but rather, she should pursue it. Thus, she began with her own music. Bjork as well as Leonard Cohen are among her favourite writers. To counter her mother's suggestions that her children should not be aiming to become famous with their songwriting skills, she instead be aware of the significance of them and the impact they have on society. Her mother suggested that she be able to perform her music publicly in order to help people realize their own importance and how they impact the world. The family did not have any idea about it until she turned 14. Aurora had no idea of being famous. Aurora claims she loves composing songs. According to her, she believes music can make people feel more relaxed.
